THE MORTAL MICRONOTZ were a punk rock band from Lawrence, Kansas USA that existed from 1980 to 1986. This page is dedicated to the band, telling a story of a band that was dominant in its scene in the mid-80's but virtually unknown anywhere else. The band put out three albums, two EP's and contributed to a few compliation recordings, and was immensely influential on the lives of many fans and bands from the northeastern Kansas area. In a time frame when much of America's underground music scene became highly politicized and segmented, bands like the Micronotz reminded us that one could listen to records and go to shows and....HAVE FUN.
