The Mortal Micronotz are a four-piece group of high-schoolers from Lawrence. Basically, a group of friends that started playing last year, the band has become local legends at their early stage. Talk Talk: How did the band form? Dean: John and David had been playing together. I was going to be the guitar player, but John had the money for it and I didn't. So I was going to be the manager. Then they got me drunk one night and made me sing. John: That was last year. Steve: I wasn't in the band then. Dean: We had a heavy metal drummer that left us for his girlfriend. |
Steve: Who stole the PA and everything. Dean: Don't put this in the magazine about the abortion and selling the PA to pay for it. A bad experience. John: Well, that's not why he quit the band. Dean: Now we buy band contraceptives. Steve: He was just trying to get the PA back to quit. He's a preppie now. Dean: It's hard going to school and playing. David really has it tough because he has a job to do to live, also. John: And Dean's parents never let him practice because he flunks all his courses.
