Gimme Some Skin
This is a cover of the Stooges song that appeared
on the Fresh Sounds from Middle America vol. 3 compilation LP.

Oh won't you gimme some skin?
Oh won't you gimme some skin baby?
Hey....hoah!....

She's so mine, her voice is so low
Never mind that, I love her so
Whip it on out, whip it on in
Oh baby, won't you gimme some skin

And I don't mind if your mind is gone
But if you want my body,
You gotta gimme skin all night long

Oh won't you gimme some skin?
Oh won't you gimme some skin baby?

She shoots speed, she shoots crack
She shoots speed right up her ass
But I don't mind, I don't care
Waah, gimme that hell!
But I don't mind if your legs are thin
But if you want my body, you gotta gimme some other skin

You wanna gimme some skin?
You wanna gimme some skin, baby?
Hey!....hoah!...

She's so fine, her voice is so low
Never mind that, I love her so
Whip it on out, whip it on in
Waaah, gimme that skin!

And I don't mind if your mind is gone
But if you want my body, you gotta gimme skin all night long

Hey, you wanna you gimme some skin?
You wanna you gimme some skin baby?
Whoa....

GOD
A late Jay-era original song. As far as I can ascertain, the only Jay Micronotz original that was not on any recording. It was performed at least twice--3-22-86 at the Outhouse and at the New Years Eve 86 reunion show.
under construction...will be completed first week of April, 1999.

Ken and Barbie
One of the first Notz originals, written in 1980. A fun, teenage-punk band song that has been forgotten in the sifting sands of time.

Know Where
An out-take from the Video EP recording sessions. A Micronotz original, it's not on any officially-released recording.
TV is filled with excitement,
Mr. Joe Brown gets angry cause his life has none of it's enticements.
"What's wrong with my life?" he said to himself.
"I need more from life than a good decent mind and good decent health."
Mr. Joe Brown just sits at home and lays around,
He feels like shit cause he's know where.

Mr. Joe Brown thinks to himself and believes,
That he ain't special, that his life is diseased.
So Joe looks into himself and what does he see?
SEXY PEOPLE, MONEY PEOPLE,
This boy knows what he needs!
So Joe...
Takes off his shirt, throws off his pants,
Jumps in front of the mirror and starts to chant,
"I'M A RICH MAN, POWERFUL MAN SEXY MAN,
I AM A LOVED MAN."
He feels like a real man and hopes it lasts.

Once Mr. Joe Brown has made himself the "FOOL",
He realizes they don't decide if he's totally cool!

Me Wishes
An unreleased original Micronotz compisition from the "Smash" era. It was recorded by the band on a four track cassette machine, and a very clear version exists. I cannot recall this song ever being performed live. It's slower and more "ethereal" than any Notz tune from that time period.

I lose my patience with my world
I've got nobody like me for me
I get all confused with the people in my world
I wish I could get close to me
I wish I could talk to me
I can't even get close to me
Meeee....
I wish.
I wish I could speak without feeling frustration
I like to speak without feeling disappointed when I'm finished
I wish I could get close to me
I can't even get close to me
I wish I could talk to me
I can't even get close to me
Meeee....
I wish.
I wish I could get close to me
I wish I could talk to me
I can't even get close to me
Meeee....
I wish.

Paper Plates
An out-take from the red LP recording sessions.
It appears on the "Dean Years" CD.

I don't want you anymore
I don't want you because you're such a bore
I don't wanna listen to you bitch
All I wanna hear is you away from me
'Cuz paper plates are fun
Paper plates are fun

The reason I left you, it's plain to see
You're not good enough for me
Baby don't let that make you feel bad
I know that I don't feel sad
I used to love you so much
Now I think you lost your touch
Now I wanna feel your crotch
You're nothing but you dream...
Baby if you want to, you'd forget about us!
I just wanna go on and hop on the bus
I wanna get away from you
Yeah, but I don't know what to do
'Cuz paper plates are fun
Paper plates are fun
They're fun! Yeah! (No!)

Roll Over John Lennon
Another early tune. It was recorded at Ramona Studios in the summer of 82 and wound up on the Collection I CD.

Ever since you were a young boy
You've been creating the latest sounds
But to tell you the truth John
I'm glad you're in the ground!
La-la-laaa....

It's not that we hate you John,
Or we're trying to be incredibly mean
It's just we got sick of your music
And sick of your friends scene
La-la-laaa....

Roll over John Lennon
Roll over John Lennon
Roll over in your grave

Hey guys and gals, I think we're finally free,
It's not the Fab 4, it's the Fab 3!
Hey all you hippies,
The Micronotz are movin' in!
La-la-laaa....

Stray Cat Blues
This is a Jay-years cover of the old Rolling Stones tune. The subject matter is pretty cool...
I hear the click-clack of your feet on the stairs
I know you're no scare-eyed honey.
There'll be a feast if you just come upstairs
But it's no hanging matter
It's no capital crime

I can see that you're fifteen years old
No I don't want your I.D.
And I can see that you're so far from home
But it's no hanging matter
It's no capital crime

Oh yeah, you're a strange stray cat
Oh yeah, don'tcha scratch like that
Oh yeah, you're a strange stray cat
Bet your mama don't know you scream like that
I bet your mother don't know that you spit like that.

You look so weird and you're so far from home
But you really miss your mother
Don't look so scared I'm no mad-brained bear
But it's no hanging matter
It's no capital crime

Bet your mama don't know you scream like that
I bet your mother don't know that you bite like that.

You say you got a friend, she's wilder than you
Well, why don't you bring her upstairs
If she's so wild she can join in too
But it's no hanging matter
It's no capital crime

Oh yeah, you're a strange stray cat
Oh yeah, don'tcha scratch like that
Oh yeah, you're a strange stray cat
bet you mama don't know you scream like that
I bet your mother don't know that you bite like that
I'll bet she never saw you scratch my back

Surfin' Herman
(Surfin' Herman is an instrumental. One of the earliest songs in the Notz repertoire, it was an out-take of the red LP sessions and landed on the Micronotz Collection CD.)

Weenie Roast
An unreleased song, one of the very first Micronotz originals. Clocking in at 1:05, it's a very fun, teen-punkish anthem--. An early favorite of myself and most other "original" Notz fans.

La....la...la....la
La....la...la....la
My mom on Easter says put away those things
No matter what they say, gimme those dirty things!
Let's have a weenie roast!
Let's have a blackened mess!
Let's have a weenie roast!
Man, put 'em all to rest!
La, la--la la la la la!
La, aaah--la la la la la!

Wilbur the Pig
This song was released on the Dean Years CD under the name "Wilbur the Pig", but when the Notz were together it was never that name. The band labeled it "Humble Bacon."

Oh wow, look at him now, Zuckerman's famous pig!
Oh wow, look at him now, Zuckerman's famous pig!
Oh wow, look at him now, Zuckerman's famous pig!
Oh wow, look at him now, Zuckerman's famous pig!

Wilbur was a pig
Now he's breakfast
He couldn't kill rats
So now he is worthless

Wilbur was the best
Charlotte was distressed
A fire in Wilbur's sty
She made Wilbur cry!
Why'd she give him away....
She made Wilbur cry...
Zuckerman's famous pig is gonna die!

Die! Die! Die!

Why'd she give him away?
Now he tastes so good!
Why'd she give him away....
She made Wilbur cry...
Zuckerman's famous pig is gonna die!

Die! Die! Die!

You Sank Me Battleship
This is one of the first songs the Micronotz ever wrote. It was alternately called "Ignored and Abused", as it was when excerpted in the Lawrence Journal World's article on the band in March of 82. However, one month later, I watched as Dean introduced the song as "You Sank Me Battleship" at the SPK show.

My ego's on the run
I'm really having fun
Going too far over the edge
I've got the biggest head, I don't care what you say!
Can you feel my ego trip, can you sink my battleship? Ship?

I'm the star, I'm the best
So much better than all the rest
No need for to you love me when you don't think nothin' of me!

I don't wanna help my brain
I don't wanna stop the pain
If I don't converse with you
It's because I'm better than you!
